It isn’t difficult to spot a person who is Vitamin B12 deficient. From The Encyclopedia of Elder Care, authored by Joseph Kandel and Christine Adamec, you can tell that someone is Vitamin B12 deficient if the following symptoms are present:
- reduced cognitive function, later followed by anemia and dementia
- numbness and tingling in the hands or feet
- poort memory
- constipation
- difficulty maintaining balance
- loss of appetite
- weight loss
In addition to this, Wenming Zeng and Zeng Herbert Zeng mentioned on their book, Nutrition Optimization for Health and Longevity, that Vitamin B12 deficiency is also associated with other signs such as: a lemon yellow-colored tint on the skin, and the appearance of a smooth, beefy, red tongue.
